Flow forming
The flow forming process is based on the principle of flow forming. The main difference is that the tool is not a roller that follows a specific shape, but a cup-shaped tool in which the entire shape is incorporated. The components that can be produced using this process must be rotationally symmetrical.
Areas of application: Airbag containers, accumulators, shock absorbers, gas pressure dampers, gearbox flanged shafts (sun shafts), idlers (conveyor belts in mining), and many more.
Components
Airback pressure vessel
Ă˜ 30 x 1.9 mm // Airbag pressure container for side airbag // Operating pressure approx. 600 bar / 8700 psi // Diameter reduced on both sides with GFU drawing-in process (cold forming) // Base closed with GFU flow-rolling process (hot forming) // Machined on both sides // 100% measurement of all components // Poka Yoke control system
Shock absorber tubes
Ă˜ 50.8 x 2.7 mm // Base sealed gas-tight // Inner contour of the base subsequently calibrated
Gear flanges
Ă˜ 64 x 11 mm // flange rolled on one side // subsequently machined
Mudguard mount
Ă˜ 52 x 3 mm // partially upset on one side // then shaped inwards // machined and bent
Conveyor rollers
Ă˜ 108 - 219 mm // wall thickness 3 - 8 mm // length 300 - 2100 mm // forming of bearing seats on both sides
